Fundada a 13 de novembro de 1955, a Associação Brasileira dos Criadores de Suínos - ABCS - foi instituída com o objetivo de favorecer o desenvolvimento tecnológico do setor. Teve papel decisivo no melhoramento genético do rebanho brasileiro e, hoje, articula em vários campos soluções para as demandas dos produtores de suínos do país.
